The video for Eminem’s “Mosh” (directed by GNN’s Ian Inaba) sent chills down my spine. Was I a little disappointed by the crescendo, by the action waiting for this army of young people? Sure, but that’s the situation we’re in I suppose. Secretly, though, I hope there’s a different version out there.

From the moment he hit, Eminem has been the spokesperson for young white male alienation. This video poses the question of whether he can speak for a broader audience - women, people of color, and the less-alienated (by which I mean engaged or active). Can there be a white Tupac? The question is open and it won’t be answered on November 2. It might depend on who rises to the occasion on November 3.
