Clamor’s First Podcasting Cameo
If any of you have spent more than ten minutes with me in the last two months, you’ve inevitably heard me rambling on about how great the Dawn and Drew Show is. What’s that you say? You’ve never heard of the Dawn and Drew Show? Maybe that’s because you haven’t opened a newspaper, turned on your television, or invited me out for a drink in the last couple weeks, because they’ve been all over the mainstream media radar lately. The Dawn and Drew Show is a podcast, essentially an audio-zine, recorded on a home computer roughly 4-5 times a week and made available for download to your mp3 player or home computer. There’s all kinds of tech-speak involved with this, but I won’t get into it now (mostly because I don’t understand a good portion of it, YET). The show is a glimpse into the life of two midwestern kids (I can say that because we’re roughly the same age) as told through conversations about punk rock, sex, life on their farm, how cool their dogs are, and everything in between.
Suffice to say, that the show is easily one of the best things on the webbernet right now. Remember when This American Life used to be good? Remember when Joe Frank had a show that you could listen to without having to subscribe to his gated internet community? I do, and I’ve had my ear to the ground looking for good audio programming that I can listen to while working on Clamor for the last five years. The Dawn and Drew Show provides that several times a week. In fact, I designed the entire media issue listening to over 70 archived Dawn and Drew shows.
I mention all of this to bring up the fact that Clamor plays a little cameo on show #74 as they talk about a Clamor care package we sent their way to keep ‘em busy in their old farmhouse. Check out the show. And then check out another. And then be sure to listen to the February 02 show with Dawn’s dad — broadcasting brilliance. You’ll be hooked.
And please, take a minute to tip me off to some other audio work that we should be checking out.

My podcast Tracks Up the Tree is another manifestation of the podcast format, dealing with music. I also have a top notch set of links of some of the most innovative podcasts available…

Thank you so much Jason!
You are the one -with this post- to let me know about podcasting. Since that time I’ve been hooked to many podcasts and just launched mine (www.saskianation.com).
Cheers and keep up the good Clamor work!
