Hey Gramps, leave our internet alone!
Fueled by hysteria about internet predation (anyone seen those ridiculous Dateline specials?), Congress has introduced HR5319 to monitor minors’ activity on the internet. According to Mobilize.org, the legislation aims to “ban social networking, even sites used for educational and professional opportunities. HR5319 will censor the communication of our generation and tell us who we can talk to, when and how.” Mobilize.org is working to get young people’s voices included in the discussion about how we should deal with technology we have grown up with. For chrissake, why should we let a generation who thinks TiVo is one of the lesser-known Jackson siblings determine how we talk to each other online?

A fantastic site, and brilliant effort. A great piece of work.
