Hey! What Happened to My Internets?
The internet is in danger. No, not in the same way the fake emails from Nina Totenberg say National Public Radio is in trouble. And no, the internet isn’t in danger of coming under control of the government so you have to pay postage on emails. Rather, ginormous telecommunications corporations are doing what they do best — lobbying congress to restrict public access to the internet. They’d like to see it become more of a private network (at least the good parts), leaving those of us without the scrilla to pay for the premium access left to surf the supermation infohighway via the backroads. The good folks at COA News have put this little video together to shine some light into this dimly lit corner. Enjoy. Actually, don’t enjoy. Be horrified.

Not that petitioning will do any good, but there are a lot of them, and letters to government elected officals. If you vote in favor of the big company’s we won’t vote for you, is what they all need to hear. Of course, myself, I give up, you can’t fight city hall. I don’t think the corporations have to lobby too hard, shutting down the free flow of honest media, is what the government wants, won’t you think so?
