Pentagon and Hollywood - lovers, or just really good friends?

Mother Jones has a good interview with David Robb, author of Operation Hollywood: How the Pentagon Shapes and Censors the Movies. He talks about how the military influences what we see, the way they use movies and tv as recruitment tools aimed at teenagers and children, and how they rewrite history. Really fucked up when you think about it. “The First Amendment doesn’t just give people the right to free speech,” Robb says. “Fundamentally, it prevents the government from favoring one form of speech over another… And yet that’s what they’re doing every day.”

He also thinks it wouldn’t take much to bring about some change: “I think that if just 50 people wrote their congressman and asked, “what’s going on here?,” I think it wouldn’t take much. It’s not going to happen otherwise.”
