I will never apologize for being an American! To anyone, ever! Friends, it is interesting to me how many people in this country are still asleep.We MUST wake up and clearly understand that there are evil people in the world who wish to do us harm. All of us. No matter your politics. Americans should thank God (and so should Watada) that there are better men and women who are willing to defend this country and the lives of our citizens. Our military men and women are the best that America has to offer. The corporate board rooms and latte types have never had nothing on American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. And they never will. In fact, in their heart of hearts, in places where they don’t talk about, they know the truth of who they are. That is something they must live with the rest of their lives. Watada will have to live with himself as well. In the meantime, better men and women will defend America. That my friend, you may depend on. Semper Fi! Montani Siempre Libre!

Wow, while I support this persons right to speek out I can in no way support his stance that he should be able to “pick and choose” where he will be depoloyed. Was this youngman drafted?? Was he ever told he would have the option of choosing whether or not to deploy to to a hostile theather ofoperationsor thathe could choose which on if he was deployed? Of course not.Did he take an oath to protect and defend … to hold true faith and allegence … Of course he did. He has the right to make what ever choices he feels are in his best interest. What he needs to realize and accept is the consqunse of his choices. To put it bluntly he deserves to go to prison.

Why did he join the Army in the first place, is it because it is fashionable by some to wear it in time of conflict. Maybe that was his reasoning, but when push came to shove and time came to pay the fiddler, he decided to backoff with the same sorry cliche used back in the 60s all of a sudden he is a concientious objector. As a former soldier in nam durring tet of 1968, We were dying like flys and treated worst than flys on crap. I voluntered for service in the army and had been stationed in a safehaven in Landsthul germany. I could not bring myself to accept that there were thousands of cowards protesting the war with their blleding hearts along with that treacherous poor excuse of an american, jane go to hell fonda, charlie congs gtreatest admirer. I fought like many others at the time for the right of the average citizen to protest, I did not agree with them but they had a right to their own political oppinion. This louie watada is indeed a coward and has no excuse to refuse. He voluntered for an all volunteer army he was not drafted like many protestors durring the vietnam conflict did. He has no excuse what so ever. He should be courtmartialed and also stripped of his american citizenship as a traitor and send him back to which ever suer he originally decended from.I would like to say much much more as to what should be done to him and use the rightfull vulgar language so thaqt I could be better understood, But i would rather maintain political correctness.
